Harbour View Wedding, Woodbridge, Virginia | Brandi & Nick

Where do I start with Brandi and Nick? I became connected with Brandi through her friend group in which I’m slowly photographing all of their weddings and families. I love it. Brandi is a part of the tightest group of girlfriends and I’m so glad that I somehow got invited in to document important parts of their lives. It all began in 2013 when I photographed her friend Mandelyne’s wedding/maternity/family portraits, then Brandi’s wedding, then their friend Tabatha’s family pictures, and in February 2019 I’ll be photographing their friend Alyssa’s wedding. It’s awesome because in this friend group I know everyone in their wedding party and being closely connected helps me during the events of the day.

As for their wedding day, Brandi and Nick got married on the first day of June at Harbour View in Woodbridge. Nick kept kissing her hand the whole day, which was a sweet and subtle gesture to try to catch. One of my favorite parts of the day was when the sun set over the marina and we grabbed some last portraits in that glowing light. Since their wedding, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Brandi more, including getting to photograph her and Nick again with their sweet pup. Photographing them has been more relationship building and about connection than the photographs, which is incredible.
